Project

Commercial earthmoving for hardstand construction, North Geelong

We successfully designed and constructed a new hardstand area for a commercial storage yard that was facing significant issues due to deteriorated surface conditions, lack of drainage, and unsuitable subgrade. The project involved the removal of approx. 750 cubic metres of unsuitable subgrade material, installing sub-surface drainage, including a large soak-away pit, and importing over 4,800t of crushed rock, which was placed and compacted in layers to address water pooling and rectify the existing problems.

The storage yard remained fully operational throughout the construction process, with the client requiring uninterrupted 24/7 access. To accommodate this, the project was executed in two phases: we first relocated stock to clear half of the yard, completed the necessary works, and then moved the stock onto the newly constructed pad to complete the second half.

Through close coordination with the client, we were able to complete the project efficiently, ensuring that operations continued smoothly without disruption.
